Beverage-Air awarded for environmental excellence

Beverage-Air earns the prestigious LEED Certification from the Green Building Council USA

The new Beverage-Air offices obtained this standing for various elements of eco-design: a white membrane roof that reflects the sun and reduces heat gain, a 35% reduction of water use, an overall energy use reduced by 22% and landscaping with native and adapted plants.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the main system of evaluation worldwide to promote and measure the development of sustainable and efficient buildings.
Over 22% of the construction materials used were made of recycled content and 58% were from and area of not more than 500 miles from the company. Preferred parking is provided for Low-Emitting and Fuel Efficient Vehicles.
"Saving money while at the same time protecting our environment is a concrete testimony of our commitment to reduce resource consumption and to safeguard our planet", says Rob August, President if Beverage-Air.

The project was designed by Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce Architects (Pennsylvania, USA).
