Five days with unmissable events as the finals of the Italian Barista Championship Cafeteria (CIBC), the Education Workshop organised by SCA Italy, the Extraction Lab tasting sessions and the brand new coffee blends of the “Coffee House”.

Range of products

The Rancilio Group’s “Coffee House” will be displaying the entire product range of professional coffee machines branded Rancilio, from its top of the line Classe 11, fitted with Xcelsius technology for Temperature Profiling, to the Classe 9, Classe 7 and Classe 5 models.
An entire area of the stand will be given over to the fully automatic models of the Egro brand, showcasing the latest novelties, the Egro NEXT and the Egro BYO with integrated Samsung tablet. Visitors may interact with the fully automatic Egro machines and experience the intuitive simplicity of the Android touch screen interface, the Cold Milk Foam system and the Cooled Coffee module for preparing refined coffee-based cool drinks and the CONNECT telemetry system successfully launched at the Microsoft exhibition in Leipzig.

Extraction LAB

Beyond the product range, Rancilio Group will also be also setting up its “Extraction Lab“, which will let visitors and coffee roasters have the chance to learn the secrets of coffee extraction, assisted by the Rancilio Coffee Competence team coordinated by Carles Gonzalez. This is a great opportunity to taste some fine coffee blends and try out different extraction systems assisted by a team of experts.

Italian Barista Championship Cafeteria

Rancilio Group will be the official sponsor of the Italian Barista Championship Cafeteria (CIBC), acknowledged by the WCE (World Coffee Events) and promoted by the Speciality Coffee Association. Rancilio Group will supply all the coffee machines for the qualification rounds and the finals of the competition, scheduled to take place on Sunday 21 January. Dozens of baristas, a shortlist of candidates from all over the peninsula, will be competing for the Champion’s title on five Rancilio Classe 11 machines, three of which are dedicated to the competition rounds and another two placed in the backstage at the contestants’ disposal for practising on. The participants will be able to highlight their skills thanks to the elevated thermal stability of Rancilio Classe 11. The Italian Barista Championship Cafeteria will be broadcast in live streaming on the official social network pages of SIGEP.

SCA Italy Education Workshops

SCA Italy choose Rancilio Classe 11 Xcelsius as official equipement for its workshop sessions on coffee culture who will take place in the Education Area. A team of expert will make a complete coffee overview with lessons and meetings that will go from water treatment to the future of SCA competitions, through the sensory analysis of specialty coffee and the cold coffee extracting procedures.
 

The brand new coffee blends of The “Coffee House” bar

The “Coffee House” bar will be offering three prime quality coffees, selected from the top micro-roasters: a mono origin and two highly prized blends. This will be a unique opportunity to taste the light aroma, full taste and ripe fruity notes of Santos Brazilian coffee, along with the sparkling citric acidity of the Ethiopian mono origin Yirgacheffe. Inebriating sensations of quite another type are afforded by the long-awaited “RR” blend prepared by the Coffee Competence team from Rancilio Group, which is dedicated to Roberto Rancilio, founder of the company headquartered in Parabiago. A blend that is sure to be appreciated for its light taste and excellent balance, characteristics that effectively highlight both the fresh fruity notes and the triumph of chocolate which anticipates recollections of almond in its after-aroma.
Rancilio Classe 11 Xcelsius and Giulio Panciatici – barista of the Rancilio stand for the entire duration of the trade fair event and heart and soul of the “Orso Laboratorio Caffè” in San Salvario in Turin – will interpret this new and unexplored coffee universe, accompanying visitors on their tasting experience from Brazil to Ethiopia.
